Biography:

Jake Awender is a  Sports Physical Therapist (SCS) as well as a board certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) who graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northern Illinois University in 2015. He went on to complete specialized training as a Sports Physical Therapy Resident in Minneapolis, MN after he graduated and he has a strong background in managing, preventing and rehabilitating injuries in athletes from the high school to professional levels of sport. He was a contributor to Longshots Baseball as one of the team’s staff Physical Therapists. He is now the owner of Next Step Physio in Wheaton, IL in Brickhaus Fitness, in which he combines his athletic background with detailed application of current medical literature and evidence. He is one of the faculty members of the Northern Illinois University Sports Physical Therapy Mentorship Program.
